Artists have historically been trying to define where art comes from, what it means, how it relates, and I don’t find it any easier than the rest of them. It does relate though, to it all, to an experience, a feeling, to the sublime.

I make it, because I have to. Creating assists me in processing life, and brings a profound sense of soulful release. I’m driven by a need to go on painting, whether or not the odds will ever be in my favor.
